Show some skin but not too much, otherwise you're asking for it, don’t show skin and you're a prude. Assertiveness and ambition is encouraged, yet swiftly condemned as bossiness and the expectation of being taken seriously remains elusive.
Exploring the ways in which women are subjected to censorship and control, whether it's their behavior or their bodily autonomy. This piece serves as a portrayal of a woman reduced to a mere spectacle, an object of voyeuristic gaze. Unbeknownst to us, we too become participants in this cycle, adding our own judgments to the taped up figure on the wall.
Each opinion, order, and assumption, crafted by those oblivious to the complexities they impose, is represented by a modest strip of duct tape. The red tape signifies censorship, sacrifice, passion, anger, and danger.
